Your hair is your crowning glory. It's the first thing that people notice from afar, but it’s the inexpensive accessory anyone can have, no matter what type of hair and length you have.
And it all starts with washing your hair.
So “how often should we wash our hair?” I have read different articles on this and they say every day, every other day, every two days and so on and so forth (which IMHO confuses it more). So I’ll break it down into two factors:
Now that the “often times part” is out of the way, let’s go down on “how do we wash our hair?”
This will simply be about the basics, just with shampoo and conditioner. Nothing too fancy or those of the extras because that will just complicate things, LOL! When you wash your hair, try to avoid hot water because it dehydrates hair strands which may lead to brittle or thinning hair.
Done with the rinse, now what?
Back in the day, we’re used to aggressive towel drying and rubbing the hair until we get rid of excess water, wring it and roll it up like a turban. Once again, your hair isn’t like laundry. Instead, we do the squeeze and blot motion using a towel. It may be a bit time-consuming, but this way, we’ve avoided friction between the hair and the towel which makes the hair frizzy. Then you can style it however you please.
How about you? Do you have any tips to add with washing hair?
Phew! Well, that wasn’t so hard. I know its a lot to take in especially when we’re used to what was taught that has become a habit. I know I’m still in progress with the squeeze and the blot motion part, but I’m getting there. Any hair dilemma you’ve come across and found a solution? Let me know.
